You HAVE to use the web client. Now, I have my web clients setup to use Workstation as the remote console for my guest VM's. I like it much better to use that than the other stand-alone client that you can use. Most things cannot be done via the vSphere client, if you dont like the web interface, rever ESXi back to 6 or just get use to it, it's not going away.

You need to adapt to the web client or use ESXi 6. There is no way to use the vSphere client, it is almost useless against 6. Rod I just connected to my 6. As I have said before, I have done it.
